Students may opt for a minor concentration in Paper Science and Engineering (PSE). Course requirements are detailed below. Students may seek a PSE minor with or without RBI fellowship funding.
Students completing the PSE minor must file the appropriate declaration routing form with the home school as well as the RBI executive director’s office prior to graduation.
All students funded on an RBI Fellowship must complete 12 credits of PSE coursework. Please see further details below. These 12 credits constitute a PSE minor.

In choosing courses to complete the minor, students are encouraged to consider the Institute’s guidance on minors, contained in the Georgia Tech Catalog:
“In addition to an adequate knowledge of the major field of intended research, the student must demonstrate mastery of another smaller body of knowledge—the minor field—preferably outside the student's school. The purpose of the minor is to encourage a wider interest on the part of the student and to provide a broader basis for the evaluation of the student's capabilities.”
