More than 150  industry leaders, association and government representatives and Georgia Tech faculty and students converged on the Global Learning Center March 6-7 for the Renewable Bioproducts Institute annual executive conference Transformative Opportunities for Bioproducts Manufacture.

This year’s conference focused on answering two top questions of the day: What transformative opportunities are available to today's manufacturing entities? and How can smart manufacturing, big data and analytics help increase efficiecy and boost sustainable productivity - now and in the coming decades?

One of the highlights of the annual conference has become the poster competition and reception which closes out day one of the meeting.

Forty-six  RBI’s Fellows, Ph.D. students sponsored by RBI’s endowment, participated. The session is held in conjunction with an evening reception and allows industry, academia, and government guests to get an up-close look at the research being conducted through the RBI Fellowships and discuss ideas with the students face to face.

This year, RBI named five winners. They are (from left): Jeffrey Luo, MSE; Nicholas Kruyer, ChBE; Chinmay Satam, ChBE; Bedi Baykal, MSE; Songcheng Wang, ChBE.

All authors, titles and abstracts can be found in the 2018 catalog found on our 2018 conference home page.
